Location
Can you walk into Ashbourne from the park?
- You can, we do not recommend taking the route down the main A515 as this is a national speed limit road without any footpaths. There are alternative routes into town from the caravan park across quiet country lanes or footpaths. The footpaths cross the fields that belong to the local sheep farm and so will have sheep in them for the majority of the year, any dogs with you will need to be kept on short leads and fully under control. Maps with suggested/highlighted routes are available from reception.
Is there a local pub you can walk to?
- There is a pub in the nearest village at Clifton, which is approximately 2 miles from the park. The majority of the route is along country lanes or across footpaths and is not lit at night. The walk is very popular with guests as it gives the right balance of exercise and refreshment.
Can you hear the race track that is nearby?
- The race track is used for racing meets on about 8 weekends a year. On racing days depending on the direction of the wind you may hear the racing taking place, but the individual races do not last a long time and it is not overly intrusive. Races do not start until 10:00am and take place whilst the majority of guests are off site for the day. Race meet dates can be found by clicking here. If you are interested in attending a race meet then we have a limited number of complimentary tickets available in reception on a first come first serve basis.

Facilities
Do you have water points where I can fill my motorhome tank?
- We do, just let us know when you check in and we will direct you to the most appropriate point. You will need to have you own hose to be able to fill your tank.
Do you have a motorhome grey waste disposal point?
- We do, come and find us in reception when you are wanting to leave and we can direct you over the disposal point.
Do you have security on the park?
- Yes, there is always a member of staff on the park with managers who live on the site. The entrance gates are kept closed at all times and are locked during the night. The park entrance is covered by CCTV which records 24hrs per day. An emergency number is provided on the welcome leaflet in case there is a need to leave the park during the night.
Do you provide Wi-fi?
- No. Any connection to the internet will need to be via your own mobile data provider. It is best to check with your own mobile provider for the level of data coverage in the area (our postcode is DE6 2GT). We have found that there is better coverage from EE and Vodafone. The coverage from O2 can be less reliable. If you have an urgent need to connect to the internet then we will do our best to assist you in reception.
On Site
Do any of the pitches get sunlight?
- We really are based in the wood and all of our pitches are cut in and amongst the trees. All of the pitches receive shade from the trees. There will be some times during the day where you will get some sun, but it won’t be direct and it will be cooler than if you were out in the open. On a hot summer’s day the park is an extremely pleasant place to be.
Are we allowed open fires or fire pits?
- No. we are a fully wooded area and it is too dangerous to have open fires. BBQs are allowed so long as they are kept off the ground, away from the trees and are attended at all times.
